Dr. Abduljabar Alsayoud is an Assistant Professor at the Materials Science and Engineering Department at KFUPM (King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals). He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from The University of Arizona, USA, obtained in 2017.
With expertise in computational materials science, including techniques such as DFT, Molecular Dynamics, KMC, and CALPHAD, Dr. Abduljabar is specialized in designing advanced materials. He is affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Advanced Materials at KFUPM, focusing on materials design including polymer composite materials for energy transition.
Dr. Alsayoud has led multiple research projects, with notable achievements including the design of a Pd alloy membrane for hydrogen separation. Currently, Dr. Alsayoud's research efforts are centered around gaining a multiscale understanding with focus on the atomic level of the polymer-carbon fiber interface within polymer composite materials. By delving into this complex interplay, he aims to enhance the performance and durability of these materials, opening up new avenues for their application in various industries.
Notably, Dr. Abduljabar also played a key role in establishing the Materials Science and Engineering department at KFUPM, as well as various MX and CX programs. His contributions extend beyond academia, as he served as the Director of the Office of Cooperation with KAUST for two years, facilitating collaborations between institutions.
With his extensive knowledge, research contributions, and commitment to advancing materials science, Dr. Abduljabar Alsayoud is contributing in shaping the future of the field and making meaningful contributions towards a sustainable and technologically advanced world.
