Head of Innovation & Technology Management at Oil Sustainability Program
Fahad has been the head of Innovation & Technology Management at the Oil Sustainability Program (OSP) since July 2021. In his critical role, Fahad is responsible for identifying OSP's development needs for the most in-demand applications across material, transportation, and utility sectors and implementing innovative solutions. He builds the necessary capacity in emerging research and trends by connecting OSP with relevant R&D ecosystems and bridging the gap between academia and industry players to accelerate the adoption of innovative technologies in the oil sector. He is an active member of various committees and professional organizations within the energy industry.
Fahad holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from KSU with over 12 years of enrich experience in oil and gas field. He began his career at SABIC Technology & Innovation in 2011 and held several technical and leadership roles during his tenure. Fahad's expertise includes energy intensity reduction, asset performance improvement, innovation and intellectual property, quality enhancement, technology evaluation, and process optimization. His comprehensive professional background and technical expertise make him a valuable asset to the energy ecosystem.
OSP is a government entity which was established under the umbrella of the Supreme Committee for Hydrocarbon Materials. The program works under a supervisory committee chaired by HRH Minster of Energy and includes members from 17 of the main government entities, institutions, and companies in the Kingdom. The aim of the program is to support the energy transition globally, while ensuring a reliable, sustainable and affordable energy mix. This is achieved through removing barriers to energy access in developing markets, accelerating technology developments and reducing environmental impact of conventional energy sources, with the ultimate objective of sustaining and identifying new sources for oil demand.
